DMPS is a buzz of activity each academic year when special assemblies are held to celebrate different occasions of national and cultural importance. Students hone their talent and skills by presenting various performances that includes plays, speeches, dance dramas, songs and poems, etc. This range of celebrations include Republic Day, Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti as well as festivals like Christmas, Gurunanak’s Birthday, Janamashtami, Diwali, etc.
In addition to these, various days of national and international importance like World Heritage day, World Red Cross Day, World Literacy Day, Teachers’ Day and Children’s day, etc are celebrated regularly. Some glimpses of our special events :
The Annual Day celebrations at DMPS is a grand affair. Each year, the merit prize awardees are recognized by the School on this day which is followed by a cultural programme showcasing the best of DMPS creative talents. The 31st Annual Day, 2019, “Neeranjali- Save River Ganga” was held in the School premises with great zeal and enthusiasm. The chief guest Shri Shyam Singh Yadav Member of Parliament, Chairman Shri Satya Prakash and Manager Shri Anand Prakash presided over the function. The melange of Indian and Western Music recital left the audience spellbound. Highlight of the function was the Dance Drama -Neeranjali. It delivered the pivotal message to save rivers for the survival of mankind. Meritorious students were applauded and felicitated for their achievements by receiving cash prizes ,trophies and certificates. AISSE All India 3rd Rank Topper Suhani Joshi was also conferred with cash prize of Rs11000/- . Chief Guest of the event appreciated the efforts of the students and acknowledged their outstanding result.
Around 700 students of four different houses I.e Shivalik, Vindhya, Himadri, Aravali participate in various activities and fought for the coveted trophy of House of the year. Notable among them were Tug- of-War, Basketball, kho- kho and Kabaddi matches.
Our school celebrates Republic Day with great pomp and glory in our nation. Cultural show is held with patriotic songs, folk dances and speeches to showcase the national pride.
To foster a love for language and initiate activities to promote listening and speaking skills, as learning a language helps us to effectively communicate with and better understand others, DMPS organises English Week. Plethora of interesting activities were organized for students to deepen the understanding of the English language and apply it to their daily lives such as Character Dramatization, Movie show, Search DMPS, Brochure Designing, Interpretation, Board Designing provided a more holistic approach to teaching and learning.
The session every year begins with Hawan Ceremony organised by Shanti Kunj in the school premises. In order to seek the blessings of Almighty for the upcoming academic session, all the teaching, non teaching staff headed by principal Dr.P.Kumar participate wholeheartedly. This divine experience fills the air with purity, peace and bring new hope and promises for the new session.
The Basant Panchami “Blessing Ceremony”
On the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami the “Blessing Ceremony” is observed for class 10 & 12 students appearing for their Board Examinations. The event was marked by the invocation of the ‘Holy Hawan’ seeking the blessing of the almighty followed by the chanting of the divine Gayatri mantra. A formal welcome is conveyed by the teachers, outpouring blessing, love and faith. A solemn round of blessing by the respective class teacher sand subject teachers is followed by the Tilak Ceremony.
To boost the morale of the students the teachers then hand over their Board admit card along with a pen, chocolate, printed sheet of important CBSE guidelines and personalised handmade “Good Luck” card by the class teacher.
Christmas is celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm at Deep Memorial Public School. The entire school comes alive with the positive vibrations of Christmas carols.
